Before and After Grooming Services Maintenance Program
Pawprints Dog Salon - Services
Owners have pets for different reasons. Not all owners want a "show dog" look. They may simply want a handsome family pet that is clean and well groomed. It is our job to assist the owner in that pet care responsibility. There are hundreds of styling options that will be appropriate to the pet based on the lifestyle of the pet and the owner's wishes. Our role is to select the styling option that will make the owner and the pet happy. No matter what the owner requests, we, as professionals, will never put the dog at risk of injury or loss of dignity. We shall always practice the golden rule for all professional pet groomers and stylists - humanity before vanity!
Before and After
This is a "before" and "after" set for Nikki and Kaisey:

Our grooming procedures:
Roughing: All dogs that come into our salon are "roughed". This procedure includes clipping of nails, cleaning ears, pre-clipping (depends on breed), brushing/dematting (depends on breed), assessment of personality and searching of lumps, bumps, aches and pains the customer is unaware of.
Bathing: Bathing is done right after the roughing procedure. To bathe the dogs, we use a hydro surge system to completely clean the dogs. Hydro surge is a system very similar to a do-it-yourself carwash system. (See hydro surge web site for more info.)
We like to use Bio-groom products on our customers' pets. We use a tearless or oatmeal shampoo to ensure maximum safety for our pets' skin, coat and eyes.
We also offer deskunking, deodorizing, or tar and sulfur medicated shampoos for problem skin dogs. Customers are welcome to bring their own shampoo for their pet. After each shampoo, a conditioner is applied to re-hydrate the dog's skin and coat. The conditioning treatment also serves to remove any static electricity and detangles the coat as well. It also helps repel dirt off the dog's coat.
Forced air drying: Forced air blow drying cuts the drying time in half; therefore reducing kennel drying time drastically. By using the forced air blow dryer, all the loose undercoat is removed in the tub as well as fluffing up the coat to get that extra special look.
Kennel drying: Kennel drying is great for dogs that don't like the forced air dryer or drying areas of the dog's body that can not be dried with the forced air dryer.
Towel drying: Towel drying is perfect for small or toy breeds that love to be cuddled and held. Toweling off these dogs works very well and is the least stressful on the small dogs.
Hand fluff drying: The final step to drying is the hand fluff dying. This is performed with a stand dryer combined with brushing up the dog's coat , fluffing and straightening it at the same time. We regularly use the stand dryer to also find growths or mats (tangles) on the dogs, since it works so well separating the coat for easy inspection!!
Clipping the dog's coat: After the drying procedures, depending on the breed, we will clip the coat according to the client's wishes, whether it is a regular breed clip or a modified clip requested by the customer. Clipping can be various lengths from surgical to 1-2 inches. Anything longer than that would have to be hand scissored.

The Pawprints Dog Salon Maintenance Program
Pawprints Dog Salon has developed a special maintenance program recommended for small breeds like Shih-tzus, Lhasas, Toys and Miniature Poodles, Bichons, Miniature Schnauzers, Small Crossed breeds, etc.
This special program was created not just for pets, but also for owners that love their pets yet don't have the time for brushing and washing or who sometimes don't remember to book an appointment with the groomers on a regular basis.
Enrolling in this program is simple; first give us a call and book for a full grooming. Then let's assume that you want to be on the Pawprints Dog Salon Maintenance Program. Leave it with our grooming salon and we will pre-book your dog for a visit every month.
In the first month of the program, your pet is given a full grooming and in the next month your pet receives a tidy-up, consisting of bath, nail trimming, pads, paws and eye trimming. Thereafter the program alternates with a full grooming one month and a tidy-up the next. A representative from our salon will call you a couple of days before each appointment to remind you of your next appointment.
What does this program do for you?
Your pet will always be looking their best, feeling healthy and happy. No more mats, unwanted shaving down, no more ear problems, no more overgrown nails, no more of that "doggie" smell. Isn't that great!
This program will also guarantee that your buddy will get beautiful for those special dates like Christmas or other holidays.
What does your pet gain with this program?
More hugs, more attention, and most of all: pets who come in on a regular basis enjoy their grooming, they will trust the groomer, knowing that it is just a brief time in the spa, and their moms or dads will come soon to pick them up. Here at Pawprints Dog Salon we always do our best to see our little friends comfortable, healthy and happy. We do believe that special friends deserve special care!
